We open with a live virtual kickoff — the rules, the surprise element every team must include, and your team reveal. Bring your energy; the clock is about to start.
Starting July 17, the timer begins. Your team writes, shoots, and edits a complete short film in two days. No pre-shot footage — everything is made inside the window.
Turn in your finished film before time expires, then join us to screen what every team pulled off. Same prompt, wildly different results.
Teams are formed by lottery. You don't need a crew to enter — sign up solo with the skills you bring, and we'll draw balanced teams so every group has the talent it needs to finish. Tell us what you do best below.
Our panel of judges reviews every team's finished film. All 48 Hour films will be showcased during the JXN FILM FESTIVAL. The best 48 Hour film will be crowned at the Black Tie Awards Gala.
